Title: Long time behavior for the kinetic Fokker-Planck equation
Speaker: Chuqi Cao
Bio: Chuqi Cao got his Phd from Université Paris Dauphine, he is currently a postdoc at Yau Mathematical Science Center, Tsinghua University. His research interests are kinetic and related problems, with focusing on long time convergence to the equilibrium.
Abstract: In this talk, we will present some recent works on the long time behavior for kinetic Fokker-Planck equation and related problems. We will present convergence to equilibrium of the kinetic Fokker-Planck and related equations either on the torus or on the whole space with a confining potential. We will present hypocoercivity frameworks as well as some necessary tools including enlargement of spaces, short time regularity, spreading of positivity and interpolation between spaces. This talk is partly based on the speaker’s former work with J. A. Canizo, J. Evans and H. Yoldas.
