Title: On Liouville-type theorems and Lebesgue spaces of variable exponent

Speaker: Gaston Vergara-Hermosilla

Abstract: In this talk we will study some Liouville-type theorems for the stationary 3D Navier-Stokes equations. These results are related to the uniqueness of weak solutions for this system under some additional information over the velocity field, which is usually stated in the literature in terms of Lebesgue, Morrey or BMO−1 spaces. Here we will consider Lebesgue spaces of variable exponent which will provide us with some interesting flexibility.

Bio: Gaston obtained his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2022 at the Université de Bordeaux, France, under the supervision of Franck Sueur and Marius Tucsnak. Following his PhD, he held a two-year postdoctoral position at the Laboratoire de Mathématiques et Modélisation, Université Paris-Saclay. Since September 2024, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Theoretical Sciences, Westlake University, China. His research interests include regularity theory, the Cauchy problem, and the qualitative analysis of nonlinear partial differential equations, particularly those arising in fluid mechanics and fluid-structure interaction models.
