Title: Optimal Regularity for the 2D Euler Equations in the Yudovich Class

Speaker: Nicola De Nitti

Abstract: We analyze the optimal regularity that is exactly propagated by a transport equation driven by a velocity field with BMO gradient. As an application, we study the 2D Euler equations in case the initial vorticity is bounded. This talk is based on a joint work with David Meyer and Christian Seis.

Bio: Nicola De Nitti earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from FAU Erlangen–Nürnberg in July 2023 under the supervision of Enrique Zuazua. He was a postdoctoral researcher in Maria Colombo’s group at EPFL from September 2023 to March 2025. Since April 2025, he has been a tenure-track assistant professor in mathematical analysis at the University of Pisa.
