Title: Some chemotaxis systems revisited
Speaker: Yuxiang Li
Bio: Li Yuxiang is a Professor of Mathematics at Southeast University. He was awarded a Natural Science Prize (second class) in 2021 by the Ministry of Education of China. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2002 at Nanjing University. He stayed as a visiting scholar at the University of Paris Nord in the period 2008.2-2009.2. His research interests lie in finite-time blowup, global existence and asymptotic behavior of nonlinear parabolic equations, including KPZ equation, chemotaxis equation, etc.
Abstract:
In this talk, I will revisit some chemotaxis systems, which models the movement of biological cells or organisms in response to chemical gradients. Nowadays, mathematical modelling of chemotaxis has developed into a large and diverse discipline, whose aspects include its mechanistic basis, the modelling of specific systems and the mathematical behavior of the underlying equations. Chemotaxis systems have provided a cornerstone for much of this work, their success being a consequence of its intuitive simplicity, analytical tractability and capacity to replicate key behavior of chemotactic populations.
